The Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Association
A Brief History of SCCSA
The Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Assn was established on 14th September 1974 and we became incorporated on 18th November 1988.
The need of a Saturday soccer competition had been seen by various churches for some time. In mid 1974 representatives from churches were invited to informal discussion and an Association was established. A general meeting was held on 15th November 1974. The Association covered from Caloundra to Cooroy-Noosa recruiting got under way to form two competitions being an under 10 years and an under 13 years and started with approximately 140 playing members.
Today we have over 3000 junior members and 350 senior male and female players. We foster the opportunity for players to play and develop their skills in soccer in a safe alcohol and drug free environment on Friday night and Saturdays. We have 19 clubs covering the entire Sunshine Coast region: Caloundra to Noosa and west to Nambour and the Range.
